We are natives to both the realms of gaming and NFTs. Both realms host incredible communities which we are proud to be a part of. Both realms hold immense value appreciated by those within, but misunderstood by external onlookers. But both realms also feature undeniable shortcomings.
Our views on how these shortcomings can be improved have been refined over various conversations, research, and contemplation. We will not bore you with the details here (You can view the details under the "Industry Outlook" section). The TLDR here is simple: gaming & NFTs have immense synergy which can mutually and exponentially increase value if applied properly.
Cutthroat publisher business models & restrictive ownership of game skins / assets.
Decentralized storage can democratize game asset ownership.
Modding communities underdeveloped and often exploited by game publishers.
Immutable co-creation contracts can enrich modding communities.
Restrictive game & asset access caused by corporate clashes on platform and IP.
On-chain asset transparency can enable true interoperability.
"It's just a JPEG" syndrome where outsiders question value of NFTs.
Digital assets in gaming, such as skins, have proven, stable, value over time.
Fish eat fish world due to small community and flip-focused bad actors.
Introducing mainstream users interested in the technology's application to gaming, rather than speculative financials, will help maintain genuine value.
Prevalence of short term over-promise and under-deliver builds.
Nature of gaming builds with clear phasing and milestones can prevail over one-time launch and pump value spikes. This promotes continual value growth cycles.
